"…The action does not progress, it is caught within itself…"

"…The action does not progress, it is caught within itself…"

This work presents a pregnancy test worn on the lapel of a shirt, like an official pin or a badge of honor. In its video form the test charges itself again and again, as if freshly dipped in urine, yet never matures into an answer. Neither positive nor negative, it flickers endlessly into suspended time. The action does not progress; it is caught within itself.

Here the female body is shifted from the private sphere into the realm of public display, not as an act of exposure but as a refusal to resolve. The pin suggests belonging, pride, or achievement, yet it also captures the social pressures surrounding reproduction, fertility, and regulated notions of female success. At the same time, it resists the binary outcome—like code that yields 0 or 1. Here there is only one or two.

The attire itself is charged. The shirt is buttoned to the top, conservative, yet sheer enough to reveal a masculine undershirt beneath it. Layers of identity, gender, roles, and signs intersect. I do not aim to deliver a result but to construct an inter-dimensional space that sustains tension, a state of anticipation and suspension where resolution is indefinitely withheld.
